NXNW @ The Tudor House – Wigan

Great gig last night in Wigan. Nice to play inside a building instead of out in a field! Crowd was wicked, really enjoyed it. Thanks to John Togher for sorting it all out!

Next gig, this weekend at Boomtown Fair.

Big Chill + Standon Calling = extreme sleep deprivation

Two in one weekend? Why not! First up was Big Chill in the Words in Motion tent, Saturday night. Really relaxed set, almost looked like Ferry was asleep during the intro to “Cannibal Kids”! Thanks for sitting in with us and listening! Also thanks to Charlie for having us and to Polarbear and Speakers Corner Quartet who’s sets were just what we needed after a long day!

Then straight back into the big silver car and across the country, through the night, to Standon Calling! Fantastic festival, great vibe. Although a little groggy from sleeping in the car on the motorway, we managed to show up on time and set up for an OK set on the main stage at 1:10! Thanks again to everyone involved for making us sound good, despite our aching bones!

Finally, we wandered over to the Diesel U Music tent where we’d arranged to do our own show! They recorded it, so it should be available to hear sometime soon, I’ll post it when comes up.

Massive thankyous to everyone who helped us out this weekend! Especially to Holly for driving us around!

And that was that. Next up is NXNW festival, tomorrow in Wigan at The Tudor House, then Boomtown Fair this weekend.

Heads still ringing from seeing Wu Tang at the Brixton academy on Wednesday, we were on perfect form to play a completely acoustic gig! In a church in Soho, right next to the Borderline Club, where you’d least expect it, lit mostly by candles and with a recording device shaped like a man’s head, it looked to be another one of those weird gigs!

In fact, it was wicked. It was really good for us to play that quietly, using the acoustic volume of Kate’s voice as the only guideline for how loud to play.

I think the recordings are going to be available somewhere soon, we’ll keep you posted. Thanks to Charlie for having us down, it was a great experience.

Next up is Big Chill, 1:10AM at the Words in Motion stage on Saturday night. Then Standon Calling, 1:00PM at the Main Stage on Sunday.

Camp Bestival

It was all going too well. Four festivals into the season, we were really getting into our stride. Van packed and ready, we set off for the festival with everything we needed and loads of time to spare. Of course the van blew up on the M3 leaving us stranded in Bagshot!

Thankfully our S.O.S. was received! Massive thanks to Sarah Bear for rescuing us!

Luckily we were able to move our gigs around and in the end we played three wicked band sets and a poetry set on Saturday.
