Brighton – Fortune of War
Played some great gigs this weekend. Friday night we were in Brighton for the Great Escape festival. Sunday Best had us down for a set at The Fortune of War, which is a little venue right on the sea front. The stage was TINY! But we really enjoyed it, the venue felt pretty packed. We had to leave early to get back to London, so we didn’t manage to catch Beardyman’s set. Next time. I saw a bit of David E. Sugar though. First time I’ve seen him with his band, it sounded wicked. Props to the drummer with the Simmonds electric bass drum!
I am not a number…
Maintaining the jet set life style, Saturday night saw us setting up in Jersey. We all agreed that we’d need to stay at least a week longer to work out what Jersey is all about! Just can’t quite put your finger on it!
It was a great night, the set went down really well. Probably the loudest gig we’ve played in a while, but I think that’s how they like it there! We also had our first ever fight, which broke out in the audience whilst we were playing End Times! Not quite sure if it was the lyrical content that sparked it… probably just the booze. Thanks to Jamie from Benny the Moth for having us over and looking out for us while we were there, we had a great time.
